Burrowbridge Flood Plan
Following the disastrous floods of 2014 and in accordance with Somerset County Council’s 20 year flood plan residents have been meeting to decide how best to cope should the situation be repeated.
The essence of our plan is that the village is divided into 12 separate groups of houses or ‘clusters’. Volunteer flood wardens will take on the task of ensuring that all residents in their cluster:
1. Have an individual flood plan.
2. Know the trigger points for determining appropriate actions.
3. Identify any special requirements they may have.
Two people in the village will be identified as the points of contact with representatives of Local Government and the Environment Agency. This should ensure accurate information is available.
The Flood Plan is now finalised and has been distributed to all the residents. To download a copy click here. The downloaded copy does not include individual cluster maps. The first 9 are available below. The rest will be available shortly.
Cluster 1 | Cluster 2 | Cluster 3 | Cluster 4 |
Cluster 5 | Cluster 6 | Cluster 7 | Cluster 8 |
